Fesselbürste – Fetlock brush
WHY WE LOVE IT
Stiff enough to remove dried and wet mud
Soft enough to be gentle
Great to get into small corners with the different length bristles
WHAT WE WOULD FIX
Availability, this one was hard to find here up north. Had to order it online from Germany. (Yes I’m a grooming nerd)
WHEN WE USE IT
Mostly on dry mud on legs and hoofs
When brushing boots after a ride
We have a lot of mud in our paddocks… So much that we need to hose off more often than is healthy up here in the cold.
And that was why we bought this brush. For those days when letting the mud dry before brushing it off. I intended it for the hoofs and fetlocks when buying it, but really I use it for all over.
It really gets deep into the fur removing all traces of debris. This is so important before tacking up and fastening boots.
Also works wonders on wet mud.
This is by far the best brush in the grooming kit!
LETS GET TECHNICAL
Brush material: Bristles of imitated hair
Colour of the backside: Silver
The bristles are in different lengths, longer in the center, shorter on the outside
HOW WE CLEAN IT
Normally we wait for it to dry, and hit it against the floor. Tadaaaa…
About every three months we clean all our brushes in a bucket of warm soapy water and air dry
The size: 190 x 58 mm
Fits well in most hands
My human uses this on my feet, but I like it in my face, especially when sweaty. I love a good scratch with this all over my face! And behind the ears! And under the chin!
